TAXI - 010 Deborah Bell

This is a monograph about a sculptor, painter and printmaker who creates her work in dialogue with multiple worlds, texts, histories and consciousnesses.

The text is by Pippa Stein with contributions by William Kentridge and Robert Hodgins and an interview with Achille Mbembe.

Each TAXI Art book comes with an educational supplement to help teachers and learners become more aware of contemporary visual art in South Africa.

Steven Sack, the new Director Arts, Culture and Heritage Services at the Joburg Metropolitan Council will launch the book at franchise, 44 Stanley Avenue. 6pm on Thursday April 1st.

We will also welcome the Dutch Ambassador for Cultural Co-operation, Jan Hoekema at the launch.

Other TAXI Art Books are on Jo Ractliffe, Samson Mudzunga, Jeremy Wafer, Santu Mofokeng, Lien Botha, David Koloane, Noria Mabasa, Steven Cohen and Pat Mautloa.
