He teaches at the School of Language, Culture and Communication at the University of Natal in Pietermaritzburg and lives in a villlage with his wife and two daughters. Karen Press is a South african poet who has collaborated with Lien Botha on several projects. Her published collectiosn include Bird Heart Stoning the Sea / Krotoa's Story, The Coffe Shop Poems, Echo Location. A Guide to Sea Point for residents and Visitors, and Home For this book Lien has collaborated with Karen Press and struck up a fascinating dialogue of meaning and imagery showing Press' words flowing alongside the beautiful reproductions of Botha's work. Lien Botha is an artist living in Cape Town and working in photo-based media. Her work can be found in major collections in South africa. She completed her degree in Fine Art at the University of Cape Town in 1988 and has since worked as a commercial photographer and artist, exhibiting in South Africa and abroad.
